Nike Selects Footwear Students To Participate in LeBron 16 x Harlem's Fashion Show Design Workshop
Over the summer, Nike invited FIDM Footwear Design & Development students to apply for their LeBron 16 x Harlem’s Fashion Row (HRF) Strongest Design Workshop, and students Kamaria Davis and Christine Sepulveda were selected to participate. To find out more, we caught up with Kamaria who earned her A.A. in Merchandise Product Development and her B.A. in Creative Industry Studies国产偷拍视频 with a core concentration in Footwear Design & Development—and is now doing a footwear design internship at Chinese Laundry.
Tell us about your LeBron 16 x HRF Design Workshop experience: Out of many applicants, Nike invited only ten young female designers from Los Angeles to participate in the workshop. This was definitely a proud moment in my career thus far. I was excited and nervous and happy that I was selected as a winner. I enjoyed working hands-on to redesign an already incredible shoe. I was able to be creative and be in my element. I will never forget this opportunity.
How did the workshop go? When we first arrived at the Culver City location, we mingled with the other winners over lunch. After that there was a panel discussion with the four women who designed the LeBron 16 Lifestyle shoe—Brandice Daniel, Kimberly Goldson, Felisha Noel, and Undra Celeste. It was a very professional interview. They spoke about design, the shoe itself, the industry, and colored women as the topic relates to the design industry.
Next, we gathered in groups of two to redesign a plain white LeBron sneaker, and create a vision board for it. Christine and I grouped together and presented our design to the panel and the other contestants.

国产偷拍视频I had an amazing time listening to the advice and encouraging words from the panel. I understand that many people applied for the competition and I was shocked to know that I won.
